Interview with Kian …

It is always great to interact with the younger generation especially when they are interested in Hull’s history, in particular Hull’s fishing industry and the associated local community history. At the start of 2025 two of the STAND trustees were invited to the university to be interviewed by a final year Geography student studying at Hull University – he was researching Hessle Road’s identity (past, present and future) in the light of Hull’s fishing industry and its eventual decline, for a dissertation he was to submit for his degree.  The resulting dissertation contributed towards Kian achieving a First Class degree.

Well done Kian!

Below is Kian’s excellent dissertation : ‘Assessing the role of St. Andrew’s Dock trawling in shaping Hessle Road’s place identity’.
