Dear Member

We hope you are keeping well throughout these challenging times.

This last year has been difficult for many charities having to face post pandemic repercussions and for STAND it has not been an easy year either. Our fundraising efforts, which include Membership subscription, are the vital means by which STAND manages its day to day running costs and most importantly, helps us realise our aims and objectives.

The ability to survive and progress for any charitable organisation is dependent upon its Membership. We sincerely thank you and value your past commitment and hope you will remain committed to supporting us throughout this new Membership year.

During the last year we have worked tirelessly to bring the long awaited Memorial to fruition. We are delighted to inform you that work will begin on site mid April and we hope for completion by early August.  We will keep our website updated with all the latest news & photos of the Memorial.

Our Constitution states that the STAND Annual General Meeting should be held before the 30th June.  We will contact you at a later date regarding details of when and where the 2023 AGM is to be held.

On 5th February 2023 our Annual Lost Trawlermen’s Day Memorial Service was held at St. John the Baptist Church, St. Georges Road, Hull. It was a very poignant and nostalgic Service and appreciated by those in attendance. It was lovely to see so many people in the congregation.  Once again, we enjoyed the musical accompaniment of the City of Hull Brass Band. We were also pleased to welcome the local children from Eastfield Primary School choir to sing at the Service this year.  You can read more about Lost Trawlermen’s Day on our website.

STAND sends our best wishes to you all and we look forward to welcoming you once again as a member.

Kind Regards

Ruth Creasey

STAND Secretary
